The Rane Center’s new StatDVT and Edema Clinic is dedicated to the speedy diagnosis and treatment of DVT’s and Edema therapy.
The bad effects of DVT’s are due to: (1) mechanical blockage of main veins; (2) an intense inflammatory reaction to the blood clot. Both contribute to post thrombotic syndrome. Prompt diagnosis and removal of the clot is essential. The window of opportunity is narrow as the clot organizes into fibrous tissue within a few weeks.
The Rane Center’s StatDVT clinic is geared to scan referred patients immediately without delay. Acute DVT involving major veins will be referred to The Rane Center for possible mechanical thrombectomy. We have been able to successfully remove the clot without using thrombolytic agents in most patients.
